Job summary

Del Mar College in Corpus Christi seeks a TERM INSTRUCTOR to teach Environmental/Petrochemical courses across multiple times and locations as needed. The pool approach allows for temporary assignments based on institutional needs and open interview scheduling, with annual reapplication for continued eligibility.

Qualified candidates will hold an AAS in Environmental/Petrochemical Lab Technology or a BS in Chemistry and have at least three years of related experience, with teaching experience

Qualifications

• General knowledge of the Petrochemical and Environmental industry.
• Must have worked with analytical instruments used in industry analytical laboratories and understand operation and troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of environmental regulations as they apply to the petrochemical industry.

• May teach online courses and/or dual-credit/early college classes.

Job Description Summary

The purpose of this position is to teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need, and maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and community, Courses may include online courses and/or dual-credit/ early college classes.

General knowledge of the Petrochemical and Environmental industry.
Must have worked with the various analytical instruments used in industry analytical laboratories and have good understanding of how the instruments work and how to trouble-shoot them.
Good understanding of the environmental regulations as they apply to the petrochemical industry.

Associate in Applied Science in Environmental/Petrochemical Lab Technology OR BS in Chemistry.
Three (3) years related work experience.

Teaching experience.
