Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Specialist 2 to support permitting and field compliance across multiple states, with preferred basing in Cranberry, PA or other listed offices. The role focuses on air and water regulatory compliance, SPCC planning, E&SC controls, and field data collection.

Ideal candidates will have six years of experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Approximately six years of experience with environmental permitting, reporting, and recordkeeping related to air and water quality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and technical writing ability.
• Ability to utilize electronic location devices (GPS) to collect data tied to a project location.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and MS Office applications; familiar with report and form completion through MS Word, Access and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review and understand regulations, specifications, compliance requirements and project deliverables.
• Air Permitting (Major and Minor Sources, synthetic minor, permit modifications).
• SPCC Planning (Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure).
• Erosion and Sediment Control (E&SC) compliance for construction projects.
• Perform in-field compliance assistance with E&S controls on various projects.
• Prepare and review monitoring reports based on field observations.
