Job summary

GAI Consultants is seeking an Environmental Engineer with experience in Permitting and Field Compliance to be based out of our Cranberry Township office, PA, within the Energy Business Unit. You will advance environmental permitting and field compliance knowledge across PA and neighboring states while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in environmental permitting, reporting, and recordkeeping.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and technical writing ability.
• Ability to utilize GPS to collect data tied to a Project location.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and MS Office applications; familiarity with report, database, and form completion.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass screening to drive a GAI vehicle.
• Willingness to travel 4-6+ hours round trip with possible overnight stays.
• Bachelor's (B.S.) or higher in environmental engineering.
• 6+ years in environmental permitting, reporting, and recordkeeping.
• 4+ years in environmental field compliance and reporting.
• Experience with sound level studies (modeling) for clients.
• Experience with Environmental Due Diligence (Phase I ESAs).
• Experience with SPCC Plans.
• Knowledge of SWPPP and NPDES; familiarity with E&S guidelines and BMP designs.
• Past experience with environmental review agencies.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and GIS (ArcGIS).

Responsibilities

• Review permits, permit conditions, and modifications for air and water quality at local, state, and federal levels.
• Assist with environmental reporting and monitoring reports based on field observations.
• Prepare sound studies, wetland/stream delineation reports, and erosion and sediment control plans.
• Assist with erosion and sediment control and stormwater plans for site and linear projects.
• Provide in-field assistance with E&S controls and work with minimal supervision.
• Adhere to Health and Safety requirements for GAI and clients.
• Maintain QA/QC standards and follow client quality procedures.
