Job summary

SIMCO – Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC is seeking an Environmental Scientist or Engineer to join the WIPP Environmental Programs in Carlsbad, NM. The role emphasizes permitting and regulatory support under RCRA and related regulations.

The successful candidate will develop and review permit modifications, respond to information requests, and support closure and discharge permit activities, collaborating with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering with environmental emphasis.
• Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Provide permitting technical and regulatory support to the WIPP Environmental Programs.
• Develop, review, and/or support Class 1 and Class 2 RCRA Permit modifications and PMRs, addressing public comments and supporting hearings.
