Job summary

Pace Analytical Services, LLC in Lombard, IL, is hiring a Scientist 1 for our environmental testing laboratory. This full-time, on-site role runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with a starting wage of $20 per hour.

You will work with GC, HPLC, ICP, and other instruments to analyze air, water, and soil samples. Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry is required or equivalent, and training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related science; equivalent combinations considered.
• Ability to work in a laboratory, including standing, odors, and PPE (lab coat, safety glasses, gloves).

Responsibilities

• Work with instruments such as GC, HPLC, ICP and more
• Analyze air, water, and soil samples using established chemistry and biochemistry methods
• Review and interpret the results from the sample analysis
• Document procedures, observations, and results to maintain lab records
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments
