Job summary

Pace is hiring a Scientist 1 for our Peoria, IL environmental testing laboratory. This full-time, onsite role involves hands-on analysis and interpretation of environmental samples to ensure data quality and accuracy.

You will operate instruments like GC, HPLC and ICP, analyze air, water and soil samples, and maintain detailed lab records while wearing PPE. A chemistry-related degree and lab experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related sciences, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work in a lab, stand for long periods, handle odors, and wear PPE provided by Pace®.

Responsibilities

• Operate instruments such as GC, HPLC, ICP and more.
• Analyze air, water, and soil samples for contaminants using established chemistry methods.
• Review and interpret results from sample analyses.
• Document procedures, observations, and results to maintain quality records.
• Calibrate, clean, maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
