Job summary

SilkRoad is seeking a Customer Service / Project Management Assistant in Houston, TX to support the project management and client services team. The role is ideal for someone with 1–2 years in environmental lab ops and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.

You will handle administrative tasks, client inquiries, quotes, client onboarding, and coordination of sample logistics in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in an environmental laboratory setting, preferably in sample receiving or login.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with LIMS is a plus.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer service mindset with a professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide general administrative and project support, including data entry and records.
• Assist in responding to client inquiries via phone and email.
• Prepare and generate client quotes based on project specifications and lab capabilities.
• Support onboarding of new clients by explaining procedures, submission requirements, and timelines.
• Coordinate and schedule sample pickups, courier services, and bottle kit deliveries.
• Enter and track sample logistics and project details in internal systems.
• Create and manage EDDs in accordance with client and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with lab staff and project managers to ensure timely completion.
