Job summary

An environmental laboratory is seeking a detail-oriented Project Management Assistant in Houston to support project management and client services. Job description

Position Summary

We are an environmental laboratory seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Management Assistant to support our project management and client services team. This role is ideal for someone with 1-2 years of experience in environmental laboratory operations—particularly in sample receiving or login—who is looking to expand their responsibilities in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide general administrative and project support, including clerical tasks, data entry, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assist in responding to client inquiries via phone and email in a professional and timely manner.
  • Prepare and generate client quotes based on project specifications and laboratory capabilities.
  • Support onboarding of new clients by explaining laboratory procedures, sample submission requirements, and timelines.
  • Coordinate and schedule sample pickups, courier services, and sample bottle kit deliveries.
  • Enter and track sample logistics and project details in internal systems.
  • Create and manage Electronic Data Deliverables (EDDs) in accordance with client and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff and project managers to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion.
Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in an environmental laboratory setting, preferably in sample receiving or sample login.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with LIMS is a plus.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer service mindset with a professional and approachable demeanor.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with environmental testing processes and regulatory reporting.
  • Experience preparing EDDs or working with environmental data systems.
  • Basic understanding of project coordination or client account support.
