Job summary

Walbec Group is seeking an Environmental Summer 2027 Intern to support our environmental team across permitting, compliance, and site inspections at Midwest projects. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in environmental programs, data tracking, and reporting.

The ideal candidate is a junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, chemistry, biology, soil science, or a related field, with strong written and verbal communication and proficiency in Excel.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (junior status or greater).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Interest in environmental compliance and permitting.
• Excellent driving record.

Responsibilities

• Support the environmental team with permitting, plans, inspections, and record keeping.
• Participate in audits, environmental sampling, waste tracking, and disposal.
• Assist with plant Energy Star efficiency improvements and tracking.
• Support environmental leadership activities at plants.
• Learn management tools, processes, and best practices for environmental compliance and reporting.
• Travel to project and plant sites to support environment compliance.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Interest in environmental compliance and permitting.
• Excellent driving record.
