Job summary

Walbec Group is seeking an Environmental Summer 2027 Intern to assist the environmental team across permitting, inspections, and record keeping. You will participate in audits, environmental sampling, waste tracking, and disposal, while supporting energy Star efficiency improvements at plants.

The role involves learning management tools and best practices for environmental compliance and reporting, with opportunities to travel to project and plant sites to support compliance efforts.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, chemistry, biology, soil science, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Support the environmental team with permitting, plans, inspections, and record keeping.

• Assist with plant Energy Star efficiency improvements and tracking.
• Support environmental leadership activities at plants.

Requirements

• Junior status or greater toward a bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, chemistry, biology, soil science, or a related field.
• Self-starter and ability to work independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Interest in environmental compliance and permitting.
• Excellent driving record.
