Job summary

Walbec Group in Wisconsin is seeking an Environmental Summer 2027 Intern to support permitting, plans, inspections, and record keeping. You will participate in audits, environmental sampling, waste tracking, and disposal, and travel to project and plant sites to assist with environmental compliance.

Ideal candidates are juniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, chemistry, biology, soil science, or related fields, with strong written and verbal communication, self‑starter

Qualifications

• Junior status or greater toward a bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, chemistry, biology, soil science, or a related field.
• Self-starter and ability to work independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support the environmental team with permitting, plans, inspections, and record keeping.
• Participate in audits, environmental sampling, waste tracking, and disposal.
• Assist with plant Energy Star efficiency improvements and tracking.
• Support environmental leadership activities at plants.
• Learn management tools, processes, and best practices for environmental compliance and reporting.
• Travel to project and plant sites to support environmental compliance.
