Job summary

The Florida Department of Health, Palm Beach County Health Department, seeks an Environmental Administrator-SES to supervise field staff and serve as Section Chief for Water Programs, overseeing drinking water supply, wastewater treatment, well construction, and septic programs.

The role administers state and county permitting systems, ensures regulatory compliance, and oversees environmental health laboratory operations and harmful algal bloom monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering, Physical or Natural Science (or higher).
• Registered Environmental Health Professional (REHP/RESH) or DOH certification preferred.
• Ability to supervise and manage employee performance.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting systems, and Florida statutes.
• Proficiency with computers and database systems (HMS, Environmental Health database).
• Must be physically present in the office.
