Job summary

City of Palm Bay is seeking an environmental compliance professional to coordinate routine and emergency reporting, environmental safety, and regulatory inspections for water and wastewater facilities.

Under supervision, you will manage documentation, SOPs, safety audits, and data analysis to ensure compliance with FDEP/EPA regulations.

The position emphasizes collaboration with management, training, and liaison with regulatory entities to protect public health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Natural Science, or closely related field plus three (3) years of verifiable work experience.
• An Associate Degree in the fields listed above plus five (5) years of verifiable work experience will also be considered.
• Must possess a valid Florida’s Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform technical and administrative work for routine and emergency reporting functions.
• Address safety concerns for water and wastewater facilities, water distribution, wastewater collections and plant maintenance systems.
• Monitor environmental programs, compliance review and inspection of sites, and data coordination.
• Prepare detailed reports, including site studies, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory reviews.
• Serve as department safety representative on the City's Safety Committee.
