Bass Pro Shops seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to strengthen the site EHS program, deliver training, implement programs, enforce policies, and recommend improvements across manufacturing processes.

You will lead safety metrics, conduct risk assessments, oversee hazardous waste storage, coordinate contractor EHS work, and participate in emergency response, driving a culture of safe, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with EHS systems and safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
• Drive a Zero Incident Culture for all employees.
• Lead EHS programs, toolbox talks, and weekly safety meetings.
• Coordinate contractor EHS activities and risk assessments.
• Perform root cause analysis of EHS incidents and near misses.
• Support workers' compensation management and safety records.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Environmental Health and Safety Manager supports the site EHS program by providing environmental, health and safety training, implementation of EHS programs, enforcement of policies and procedures and recommending improvements. Drives world class excellence standards in manufacturing processes; directs and promotes safe and healthy working conditions, assesses, inspects and recommends measures for the reduction and elimination of environmental, safety and health risks; develops EHS programs, inspects satellite accumulations and hazardous waste storage areas, oversight of the inspection, testing, and maintenance of EHS protective systems, and assures operations comply with applicable EHS laws/regulations, good business practices and company requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Verifies compliance with EHS regulations and ensures all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.
• Drives a Zero Incident Culture for all employees.
• Coordinates activities necessary to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations.
• Leads Ergonomics, Behavior Based Safety, Safety MDI, and problem solving around plant safety metrics.
• Performs root cause analysis of all EHS incidents, including near misses.
• Understands and participates in management of workers' compensation claims.
• Logs and tracks safety suggestions to completion.
• Attends and assists supervisors with toolbox talks and leading EHS weekly meetings.
• Participates in the Emergency Response Team (ERT) for the facility.
• Assists with the coordination of EHS-related contractor activities: authorizes purchase requisitions and approves contractor work plans
• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing or related field
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in manufacturing environment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Experience with an EHS Management System, Behavior Based Safety, and Ergonomic assessments.
• Lean Transformational experience preferred.

Regular computer work
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, ability to climb, crawl, bend over, minimum capacity to lift 50lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :

Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
