Qualifications

• Must possess REHS or eligible to obtain within 12 months of employment
• 3+ years of senior-level experience in a health department or similar function
• Strong knowledge of EPA regulations, FDA codes, and state health codes
• Budgeting and staff supervision experience

Responsibilities

• Oversee environmental health program operations and staff
• Coordinate with local and State agencies and departments
• Respond to environmental complaints and epidemiological investigations
• Train personnel and develop procedures to meet health standards
• Manage EPA-certified laboratory operations and water quality programs
• Educate the public on health regulations and safety standards
• Prepare annual budget and productivity reports
