Job summary

Jackson County Health Department in Missouri is seeking an Environmental Health Inspector. You will perform technical field inspections, collect data, and create reports on sanitation and food handling to protect public health.

You will train restaurants and public forums, assist in outbreak prevention with the Epidemiologist, and help ensure a safe food supply for Jackson County’s 400,000+ residents. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a health-related field; no prior experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a health-related field.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing technical field inspections, collecting data, and creating reports concerning sanitation and food handling practices to protect environmental health and consumer protection for Jackson County residents.
• Responsible for training in restaurants and other public forums on environmental health and consumer protection.
• Assists Epidemiologist with prevention in the outbreak of communicable disease within Jackson County.
