Job summary

Walworth County, WI seeks an Environmental Health Coordinator to lead the Environmental Health program, oversee day-to-day operations, and guide staff under the Health Officer’s direction.

The role includes supervising two Environmental Health Specialists, coordinating water quality monitoring, and ensuring compliance with state statutes and contracts. Master’s degree preferred, Bachelor’s in EH or physical science required, with relevant leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, a physical science, or a closely related field; three years of full-time professional experience in program coordination or leadership.
• Minimum 1 year of analytical laboratory experience; master’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of Wisconsin environmental health codes and laboratory standards.
• Certified or eligible for relevant environmental health registrations within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Act as program coordinator for assigned areas and ensure deliverables meet funding requirements.
• Provide timely reports to the Health Officer and ensure contract compliance.
• Oversee laboratory operations, including training, certification, and scheduling.
• Develop partnerships and coordinate efforts to improve environmental health outcomes.
• Lead staff hiring, onboarding, and ongoing performance development.
