Job summary

The Florida Department of Health is seeking an OPS Environmental Specialist I to perform regulatory field inspections to ensure compliance with state and local laws. This on-site and field role covers Broward County facilities and public swimming pools, with data entry, report writing, and preparation of legal notices.

The incumbent will work independently, manage time to meet deadlines, and may work emergency hours.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in office and field settings daily.
• Willingness to work before/after hours during emergencies.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a car.
• Ability to work outside in extreme Florida weather.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regulatory field inspections for compliance with state and local laws.
• Perform data entry, report writing, record keeping; provide education and prepare legal notices.
• May be required to work before, during, or beyond normal hours for emergencies or deadlines.
• Work independently with effective time management to meet deadlines.
