Marion County Health and Human Services seeks an Environmental Health Specialist 2 to join our Public Health division to protect community health through inspections and education. This full-time, in-person role may be underfilled at Environmental Health Specialist 1.

The position conducts routine inspections of restaurants, pools, hotels, and other facilities, investigates complaints, and supports plan reviews and outreach to educate the public on health regulations.

Competenze

• Bachelor's Degree in science relating to environmental sanitation.
• Two years full-time experience in environmental sanitation.
• Current Sanitarian Registration and continuing education units.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Mansioni

• Conduct routine inspections of food service facilities, pools, spas, tourist accommodations, day cares, organizational camps, and school food facilities for sanitation and compliance with state public health regulations.
• Investigate complaints regarding the facilities listed above.
• Conduct plan reviews for public facilities and investigate reports of communicable diseases.
• Advise business owners and the public on public health laws, regulations, and methods of compliance.
• Prepare and present educational material to clients and the public.
