Qualifications

• Valid Florida driver's license and available transportation throughout Hillsborough County.
• Ability to lift equipment up to 30 pounds and climb narrow/steep steps or ladders.
• Knowledge of public health principles, environmental regulations, and data collection/analysis.
• Ability to work independently, prepare technical reports, and communicate effectively with the public.
• Preferred: Minimum one year experience conducting public health inspections.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and investigations in community environmental health programs including food hygiene, public swimming pools, mobile home parks, schools, and water systems.
• Issue permits, investigate complaints, and ensure regulatory compliance with Florida codes and statutes.
• Work independently under supervision and assist other program areas as needed.
