Job summary

Florida Department of Health seeks an Environmental Specialist II in New Smyrna Beach, FL to inspect facilities and assess risks to protect public health. You will work in the community and in the office handling reports and documentation, supporting regulatory programs across Food, Pools and more.

The ideal candidate will hold CEHP/RS/REHS/REHP credentials, be able to work 40 hours weekly, and travel locally, with daily field duties and exposure to heat.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to physically come in the office daily and perform field work.
• Must have current authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Must be a Certified Environmental Health Professional in Food Hygiene or RS/REHS/REHP.
• Must be able to work 40 hours per week.
• Must have a valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle.
• Must lift 50 pounds and work in extreme weather.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and risk assessments in facilities to mitigate environmental health threats.
• Interact with the public while working in the community and in office for reports and documentation.
• Support multiple regulatory programs across Food, Pools, and other Environmental Health areas.
