Qualifications

• NIMS/ICS 100a and 700 certifications to be completed within four months of employment.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.
• Knowledge of environmental public health principles and regulations.
• Ability to read maps and interpret ordinances.

Responsibilities

• Inspect properties, homes, and businesses to identify health and environmental hazards.
• Educate the public on housing and environmental health issues.
• Provide expert testimony in administrative hearings when needed.
• Work with multiple agencies to enforce health codes.
• Respond to public complaints and inquiries.
