Overview:
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Technician reports to the Safety Manager and is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, including OSHA, NFPA, and other health and safety standards. This role involves EHS surveillance at Pacific Cast Technologies and Selmet facilities in Albany, OR, and participation in safety and environmental compliance programs, including RCRA, Stormwater, and Air quality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote safety by adhering to all safety requirements and leading as an EHS representative.
  • Coordinate CPR/First-Aid AED teams, spill response, and confined space teams.
  • Organize training events and emergency drills.
  • Deliver safety training to new hires and staff.
  • Assist in managing certification, training, and medical records.
  • Track incident reports and generate safety metrics.
  • Participate in incident investigations and develop corrective actions.
  • Support plant management with safety resources and guidance.
  • Develop and implement safety procedures and life safety programs.
  • Provide environmental, health, and safety training to staff.
  • Prepare reports for regulatory agencies as required.
  • Identify and report process deviations, assisting in troubleshooting safety, process, and quality issues.
  • Support safety-related inspections and evaluations of equipment and processes.
  • Lead continuous safety improvement projects.
  • Manage work orders and requisitions for safety tools and materials.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

Knowledge of: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), SharePoint.

Skills in: Work prioritization, organization, effective communication, documentation, hazard assessment, and job task evaluation.

Ability to: Work safely in hazardous environments, recognize and respond to compliance issues, work independently and in teams, think critically, lead safety initiatives, and manage multiple activities efficiently.

Education and Experience:

  • At least two years of experience in an administrative or EHS-related role with proficiency in MS Office.
  • OR an Associate's Degree in any field.
