Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Environmental Services (ES) Field Technician I to support emergency response, hazardous and non-hazardous spill cleanup, and hazmat decontamination. Reports to supervision and performs duties with attention to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include tank cleaning, equipment operation, and site maintenance while adhering to company policies. Must pass HAZWOPER and lift up to 50 lbs as required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend documents such as operational, technical, process, safety, and quality instructions.
• Must be able to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire.
• Ability to position oneself to move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Performs tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping and shoveling, high-pressure washing, and other remedial activities in confined spaces.
• Responds to customer spills and emergencies during and after normal business hours.
• Maintains housekeeping and equipment at the work site while following safety policies and regulations.
• Operates equipment such as pumps, trailer-mounted generators, air compressors, light towers, pallet jacks, and skid steers.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
