Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Environmental Services (ES) Field Technician II in Portland, ME. The role involves performing hazardous and non-hazardous spill clean-up, decontamination work, and operating a range of equipment in semi-routine conditions.

Responsibilities include responding to spills, maintaining safety and equipment logs, and ensuring adherence to safety policies. A 40-hour HAZWOPER training is required, with 2–4 years of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon hire.
• Ability to position self to move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Experience with light and heavy equipment and responding to hazardous/non-hazardous emergencies or cleanup.

Responsibilities

• Performs tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, and other remedial activities.
• Responds to customer spills and emergencies during and after hours.
• Operates light and heavy equipment related to cleanup (forklifts, trucks, skid steers).
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintains vehicle logs.
