Job summary

Clean Harbors in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking an Environmental General Laborer to join a safety-focused team performing hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, and decontamination tasks. The role requires a valid driver's license, physical capability, and willingness to be on-call for emergency response.

Training is provided in a two-week out-of-state Academy, with expenses covered by the company. The position offers a typical 6 am start, 8–10+ hour days, and overtime after 40 hours.

Qualifications

• Must have reliable transportation.
• Able to perform physical functions per responsibilities.
• On-call emergency response required; weekends/holidays may be required.
• Background check, drug test, and physical may be required.
• Respiratory protection standards compliance as per OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety is the top priority by following policies.
• Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting and pulling heavy objects.
• Operate light and heavy equipment and use PPE correctly.
• Work in varied temperatures and environments, indoors and outdoors.
• Safely load/unload hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
• Assist in field sampling and calibration of meters.
• Be on-call for emergency response on rotating basis.
