Job summary

Clean Harbors in Wichita, KS seeks an Environmental General Laborer to support field hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, and equipment decontamination. You will handle hazardous materials and operate related tools under strict safety standards, with a two-week out-of-state academy training provided at company expense.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday starting around 6 am, with 8–10+ hour days and overtime after 40 hours. May require emergency response travel up to two weeks.

Qualifications

• Must pass a background check, drug test and physical.
• Emergency response availability, including weekends/holidays.
• Driver's license may be required or preferred per position.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize Health and Safety as the primary goal and follow all policies.
• Perform strenuous physical labor including lifting and pulling heavy objects.
• Operate light and heavy equipment and use various hand tools and power tools.
• Wear and properly use PPE, including respirators and protective gear.
• Work in varying temperatures indoors and outdoors in all weather.
• Handle hazardous and non-hazardous waste safely during loading/unloading.
• Support site-remediation, decontamination, and hazardous materials handling.
• Be on call for emergency responses on a rotating schedule.
