Job summary

Clean Harbors in Wichita, KS is hiring an Environmental General Laborer to support hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, and equipment decontamination. The role requires field work, travel up to two weeks with hotel and per diem provided, and mandatory two-week out-of-state Academy training paid by the company.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday with early start times, 8–10+ hour days, and overtime after 40 hours.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physical functions as described in responsibilities.
• Emergency response availability, possibly weekends/holidays.
• Background check, drug test, and fitness evaluation as required.
• Respiratory protection standards may apply per OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting and moving heavy objects.
• Operate light and heavy equipment and a range of hand tools.
• Wear and use PPE correctly, including respirators and protective gear.
• Work in varying temperatures and outdoor/indoor settings.
• Support in field sampling and calibration activities as needed.
• Attend safety updates and compliance meetings.
