Job summary

Jacobs is hiring an Intermediate Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Scientist for Billings, MT. You’ll split time between field projects (approximately 70%) and office work (30%), focusing on environmental site characterization and remediation for government and private clients.

You’ll collaborate with a team of geologists, engineers, scientists, SMEs, and PMs to deliver high-quality data, reports, and pilot studies while mentoring others as you grow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, or closely related field required.
• 2–5 years delivering environmental site characterization/remediation projects.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% (local and regional).
• Experience overseeing subcontractors and field data collection.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain.
• United States Citizenship; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support local field projects; manage subcontractors.
• Perform fieldwork in Billings, MT and travel to support work outside the region.
• Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and SMEs.
• Conduct vapor intrusion assessments and collect environmental air/soil samples.
• Assist planning, monitoring, and evaluation of vapor intrusion systems.
• Analyze data, write technical reports, and design pilot/remedial systems.
• Mentor others as you grow your Jacobs career.
