Job summary

Clean Harbors in Cincinnati, OH is hiring an Environmental Field Chemist (CleanPack Chemist) to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste at customer sites and facilities. The role involves indoor and outdoor work, lab-pack assistance, HHW collections, and daily customer interaction.

Entry level with significant growth potential within Clean Harbors’ Technical Services. Training accelerates, with opportunities to move into Salary Management after 18–36 months, across 200+ branches.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's license required.
• Willingness to obtain CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsement within 6 months.
• Must pass background check, drug test, and physical as applicable.
• Must meet OSHA respirator standards (29 CFR 1910.134).
• College degree in Chemistry or Natural Science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority by following safe work practices.
• Prepare packing lists, labels, manifests and land disposal notifications.
• Inspect staging, storage areas and drums for leaks and compliance.
• Package waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and compliance.
• Perform field work at Clean Harbors customer locations, including Fortune 500 sites.
• Approve all projects before shipment following OSHA, EPA, DOT and company policies.
• Drive and operate in compliance with DOT and local regulations.
