Job summary

Clean Harbors in Glenmont is seeking an Environmental Field Chemist (CleanPack Chemist) to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste at client sites, indoors and outdoors, with HHW collections and lab moves. This is a customer-facing role at customer sites daily, not a lab-based position.

This entry-level management track offers rapid training with internal transfers across 200+ locations. After ~18–36 months of learning, opportunities to move into a Salary Management role become

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Completion of CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsements within 6 months may be required.
• Meets OSHA respirator facial hair standards where applicable.
• Performs physical tasks as part of job duties.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the priority by following safe work practices and policies.
• Prepare computer generated packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restriction notifications.
• Inspect staging, accumulation and storage areas for proper housekeeping and compliance.
• Inspect drums for leaks, spills and labeling compliance.
• Collect, segregate, and package waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and compliance.
• Execute jobs at Clean Harbors customer locations, including Fortune 500 companies.
• Final preparation and approval of all projects before shipment per OSHA, EPA, DOT and policies.
• Follow local, state, and federal regulations and health and safety plans.
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with DOT and other requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
