Job summary

Clean Harbors in Eagan, MN seeks an Environmental Field Chemist to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste at customer sites. Role combines indoor/outdoor work and occasional overnight travel; training is provided as part of the academy program.

This entry-level management track offers growth into related roles across Clean Harbors with strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and on-site service at diverse facilities and labs.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills required.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain CDL Class B with hazmat/tanker endorsements within 6 months.
• Pass background check, drug test and physical as required by position.
• Compliance with OSHA/DOT regulations and respirator safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority and follow all safety policies.
• Prepare packing lists, labels, manifests and disposal notifications.
• Inspect staging, storage areas and drums for leaks, labeling and compliance.
• Package and segregate waste chemicals for disposal; perform site-based jobs.
• Operates at Clean Harbors customer locations, including Fortune 500 sites.
• Approve projects before shipment per company policies.
• Follow site regulations and health and safety plans.
• Sample and profile new waste streams as needed.
• Ensure drums are shipment-ready and compliant.
