Job summary

Clean Harbors in Cleveland, OH seeks an Environmental Field Chemist (CleanPack Chemist) to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste per regulations at plants, labs, and customer sites. This is a customer-facing, field role, not lab-based, with domestic travel to client facilities and on-site work daily.

Candidates must be willing to obtain CDL Class B, and will attend an in-person Clean Harbors Academy out-of-state for two weeks.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s license.
• By position, obtain CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsement within 6 months of employment.
• Perform physical functions per job requirements.
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority and follow safe work practices.
• Prepare packing lists, labels, manifests, and disposal notifications.
• Inspect storage areas and drums for leaks, spills, and labeling compliance.
• Package waste chemicals for disposal and coordinate shipments to customer sites.
• Execute jobs at customer locations including Fortune 500 companies.
• Ensure projects meet OSHA, EPA, DOT and policy requirements.
• Join site-specific regulatory health and safety plans and customer disposal restrictions.
