Clean Harbors in Logan, NJ is seeking an Environmental Field Chemist CDL (CleanPack Chemist) to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste in accordance with Federal/State/Local regulations and our company policies and procedures.

This position will work both indoors and outdoors at plants, labs, customer sites and are responsible for assisting with lab packs within customer facilities, household hazardous waste (HHW) collections and lab moves.

Qualifications

• Valid license required.
• Strong customer service skills required.
• CDL Class A mandatory.
• Hazmat and tanker endorsement within 60 days of employment.
• Follow OSHA/EPA/DOT safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety is the priority and follow safe work practices.
• Prepare packing lists, labels, manifests and disposal notifications.
• Inspect staging, storage areas and drums for leaks and labeling compliance.
• Package waste chemicals for disposal and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform duties at customer sites and support lab packs and HHW projects.
• Finalize project prep and approvals before shipment per regulations.
• Operate vehicles per DOT and local regulations.
• Adhere to company environmental health and safety guidelines.
