Job summary

Clean Harbors in Cleveland, OH is seeking an Environmental Field Chemist (CleanPack Chemist) to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste at customer sites, laboratories, and plants. This is a field-based role, with daily travel to client locations.

Candidates must obtain CDL Class B with hazmat/tanker endorsements within 6 months and attend a paid Clean Harbors Academy training out of state; travel and accommodations are provided.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license; clean driving record.
• Be willing to obtain CDL Class B with hazmat/tanker endorsement within 6 months.
• Able to perform physically demanding tasks and pass background/drug tests.
• Comply with OSHA respiratory protection standards.

Responsibilities

• Handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste per regulations.
• Work at customer sites daily in indoor and outdoor environments.
• Prepare packing lists, labels, manifests, and disposal notifications.
• Inspect drums for leaks, labeling, and compliance.
• Safely operate vehicles per DOT and local regulations.
• Assist with lab packs and HHW collections at facilities.
