Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an entry-level Environmental or Civil Engineering Intern to join our Water Services team. This internship offers hands-on experience across planning, design, and construction while learning from experienced professionals and building a strong foundation for a career in engineering.

You will work with a dynamic team on a diverse portfolio of municipal, federal, and industrial projects, collaborating with senior engineers, peer interns, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and taking courses toward a Bachelors in Environmental, Civil, Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field is required.
• Ideal candidate available to start May 17th, May 31st or June 14th 2027.

Responsibilities

• Supporting engineering analyses and design efforts on water, wastewater, and environmental projects.
• Assisting with technical reports, calculations, and project documentation.
• Developing maps, figures, presentations, and other project materials.
• Participating in fieldwork and construction management activities, providing exposure to the full project lifecycle.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical Engineering or related engineering field
