Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineering Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience on real-world water and infrastructure projects.

You will work alongside industry-leading engineers on a diverse portfolio of municipal, federal, and industrial projects, collaborating with interns and multidisciplinary teams while gaining exposure to different areas of engineering and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program in an engineering field (Environmental, Civil, Chemical)
• Must be pursuing an accredited degree and able to participate in an internship program
• Strong interest in water resources and civil engineering concepts

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate engineering solutions to support project analyses, reporting, and design.
• Assist with development of engineering calculations, technical reports, project documentation, and presentations.
• Gain hands-on experience using ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, CADD, Excel, and other engineering software.
• Work with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to support project deliverables and solve engineering challenges.
• Participate in team meetings and interact with clients and project teams.
• Assist with fieldwork and construction management activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Build a professional network and develop technical skills alongside your academic experience.
