Job summary

Fishbeck in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an Environmental Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. You will collect stormwater data, assist in developing environmental plans, and support permit and report preparation as part of a hands-on field and office experience.

You’ll work with engineers and scientists, participate in site visits, and apply coursework to real projects while gaining insight into environmental consulting. This is a full-time internship with hybrid opportunities where available.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related program.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
• Comfortable working independently and asking questions.

Responsibilities

• Collect and assess stormwater samples and environmental data.
• Support the development of environmental plans (SPCCs, PIPPs, HWCPs, SWPPPs).
• Assist with permits, applications, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with engineers and scientists on consulting projects.
• Participate in site visits and fieldwork to gain real-world experience.
