Job summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Survey Internship for Summer 2027. You will assist the Surveying team with evaluations and design of water and wastewater projects, and participate in site visits to observe conditions firsthand.

We look for students currently enrolled in a Survey Engineering or Civil Engineering program, with experience in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Survey Engineering, Survey Technology, or Civil Engineering program.
• AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation experience, preferably in the land development industry.
• Ability to learn basic design concepts and technical calculations.
• GPS knowledge is a plus.
• Possess valid driver's license.
• Available for occasional travel, long hours, and occasional weekends.
• Ability to communicate effectively, follow direction, and work independently.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in engineering evaluations and design of water and wastewater systems.
• Analyze data and help prepare technical reports.
• Collaborate with engineers and survey professionals across multiple offices.
• Participate in site visits and client meetings to observe project conditions firsthand.
