Job summary

General Motors is seeking an Environmental Engineering Intern to collaborate with the Environmental Operations Team on compliance for automotive manufacturing and non-manufacturing operations. You will contribute to water, waste and air programs and help implement sustainable solutions.

Work closely with engineers, participate in daily projects, and gain exposure to regulatory reporting, inspections, and community outreach while GM pursues Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, and Zero Congestion.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Health or Science, Chemical Engineering, or Sustainability.
• Must be graduating between December 2027 and May 2029.
• Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the facility environmental engineer(s) on environmental compliance and daily operations.
• Participate in project implementation and continuous improvement of water, waste, and air programs.
• Assist with compliance reporting and inspections; support process improvements to reduce environmental impacts.
