CDM Smith seeks a Spring 2027 Co-Op in Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineering to join our team in Austin, TX. You will work with experienced engineers and interns on real projects that benefit communities across the country.

You’ll gain hands-on experience from analysis to design, with opportunities to travel up to 10% and to contribute using ArcGIS, CADD, Excel, and other tools. This role emphasizes learning, teamwork, and professional growth within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and taking courses toward a Bachelor’s in Environmental, Civil, Chemical Engineering or related field is required.
• Some knowledge of ArcGIS, CADD, Excel and Access is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Target Timeline: January to May cycle.
• Research and develop engineering solutions supporting projects from analysis and planning to reporting and design.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, fellow interns, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Build reports, presentations, maps, designs, and other deliverables using ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, CADD, Excel and other software.
• Participate in field opportunities to observe construction management activities and project lifecycle.
• Develop technical and professional skills and expand your network.
• Perform other duties as required.
