Job summary

Fort Pierce Utilities Authority seeks an advanced professional to coordinate, plan, design, estimate and prepare specifications for water treatment/distribution and wastewater treatment/collection systems. The role reports to the Supervising Engineer and requires strong knowledge of civil and environmental practices, field operations, and project management.

Requirements include a four-year degree in civil/environmental engineering, at least two years in water/wastewater engineering, Florida

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Two years of experience with a utility or consulting engineer in Water/Wastewater Engineering.
• Registration as an Engineer Intern (EI) or Professional Engineer (PE) with the State of Florida is highly desirable.
• Valid State of Florida driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and approves design and construction plans for water treatment/distribution and wastewater systems.
• Confer with developers and engineers on large projects for pre-planning utilities.
• Reviews plans and may inspect water and wastewater utility construction for compliance with standards.
• Supervises engineers, technicians, and inspection personnel as required.
