Job summary

Fort Pierce Utilities Authority is seeking an advanced, responsible professional engineer to coordinate, plan, design, estimate and prepare specifications for water and wastewater systems. Reports to the Supervising Engineer and leads technical staff.

The ideal candidate will apply environmental and civil engineering practices, utilize AutoCAD and ESRI GIS, prepare cost estimates and progress reports, and communicate clearly with public bodies and the public.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
Two years' experience with a utility or consulting engineer in water/wastewater engineering.
Florida EI or PE desirable.
Valid Florida driver's license required.
Substitution of training/experience allowed.

Responsibilities

Coordinate, plan, design, estimate and prepare specifications for water and wastewater systems.
Supervise engineering staff and coordinate with other departments.
Prepare cost estimates and progress reports; administer permits and project budgets.
Confer with architects/engineers on large projects and with developers on new subdivisions.
Negotiate engineering fees and provide technical advice to customers and contractors.
Assist with GIS mapping, design drawings, and project scheduling.
