Job summary

The City of Fort Lauderdale Public Works Department is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to lead critical water and wastewater infrastructure initiatives. The role covers planning, design, and construction of capital projects and oversight of consultants and contractors to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with high quality assurance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering or related field.
• At least three (3) years' experience in construction management and/or public works engineering water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Veterans’ Preference documentation accompanying the application per Florida statutes.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering consultants and contractors during design and construction of municipal projects, with site inspections and quality control.
• Oversee multiple water and wastewater public works projects through planning, design, permitting, bidding, construction, inspection, and warranty phases.
• Develop construction-level designs and calculations, prepare and manage task orders, and prepare RFPs/RFQs in compliance with codes.
• Review plans, specifications, estimates, and pay requests; monitor scope, budget, and schedule; provide progress reports to leadership.
