Job summary

GHD is seeking a mid‑level Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Hydrogeologist to join the Contaminated Assessment and Remediation group in Des Moines, IA. You will operate across field and office settings, applying regulatory knowledge and technical skills to groundwater characterization and remediation projects.

The role involves travel, client interfacing, report writing, and collaboration with an energetic team to deliver safe, compliant solutions across diverse projects in the Midwest.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience including field work, data evaluation and technical report writing.
• Experience with site characterization, groundwater analysis, and regulatory reporting.
• HAZWOPER certification or progress toward such is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and project management services to clients on a variety of projects.
• Prepare technical correspondence, proposals, reports, work plans, and project specifications including budgets.
• Data compilation, reduction, interpretation against environmental regulatory standards.
• Interact with clients, contractors and service providers.
• Conduct or direct environmental sampling and monitoring for groundwater and other media.
