Job summary

GEL Engineering, LLC is seeking a hydrogeologist or environmental scientist to join our environmental and engineering team. The role focuses on project management for wastewater regulations, contaminant investigations, and permitting and compliance.

You will lead field activities, prepare proposals, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver site assessments, remediation plans, and reports for clients and regulators.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in geology, hydrogeology, environmental engineering, or related field.
• Licensed Geologist in NC/SC.
• 8+ years environmental experience; 3+ years supervising investigations/remediation.
• RSM in NC DEQ a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Proficient with M365 and project tracking software (Deltek).

Responsibilities

• Lead project management tasks including proposals, work plans, and reports.
• Prepare scopes of work, cost estimates, and project schedules.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on site assessments and remediation plans.
• Conduct technical report reviews for the project team.
• Communicate findings to clients and regulatory agencies.
• Provide QA/QC oversight and regulatory permitting support.
