Job summary

WSP is seeking an Environmental Engineer to support due diligence, site investigation, remediation, and environmental compliance projects in the Baltimore, MD area, reporting to our Baltimore, MD, Herndon, VA or Washington, DC offices.

The selected candidate will assist with planning and implementing environmental investigations and remedial activities, support waste management and spill prevention programs, and contribute to monitoring programs protecting environmental quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, Sanitary, Chemical, Industrial, Agricultural, or Public Health Engineering.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant post-education experience.
• EIT Certification and on-the-job development toward PE.
• Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations and compliance requirements.
• Strong communication and regulator coordination capabilities.
• Proven safety record and ability to work in a dynamic team.

Responsibilities

• Collect and compile environmental data from samples of air, soil, water, sludge, and other matrices for projects, investigations, and surveys.
• Assist with planning and implementation of environmental investigations and remedial activities.
• Support hazardous or solid waste management and spill prevention programs.
• Prepare accurate field documentation and technical reports.
• Evaluate site conditions and interpret environmental data for risk assessment.
• Contribute to site health and safety plans (HASPs) and project scoping.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams to meet project goals and regulatory requirements.
