Job summary
Sylvamo is seeking an Environmental Engineer to support the Ticonderoga Mill in achieving 100% regulatory compliance, obtaining environmental permits, and implementing environmental technologies. You will work with production teams to improve processes and promote environmental awareness within the company and community.
The role involves coordinating with regulators, educating mill staff, and collaborating across air, waste, water treatment, and site operations to meet regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- BS degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years’ environmental experience in heavy industrial or mill manufacturing.
- Experience with environmental regulations and permitting.
- Expertise in New York State Department of Conservation regulations preferred.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a point of contact with regulatory agencies for obtaining permits and resolution of environmental issues.
- Administer overall environmental compliance at mill site.
- Develop regulatory correspondence for mill site.
- Provide technical support for Environmental Management System.
- Oversee site-wide RCRA requirements and compliance activities.
- Serve as part of EH&S weekend duty rotation as needed.
