Job summary

Carvana is seeking a Project Manager, Environmental Health and Safety to lead air quality compliance across nationwide facilities. You’ll develop, implement, and monitor environmental programs, manage air permits, reporting, and regulatory interactions, and drive training and data-driven initiatives to ensure top-tier EHS performance.

The role requires a strong background in environmental compliance, 3+ years in EHS, and excellent communication skills, with travel up to 25% to support sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
• At least 3 years of environmental compliance or EHS experience.
• Direct experience with air permitting and emissions reporting.
• Strong knowledge of environmental laws: RCRA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, SARA Title III.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Manage air permits, registrations, renewals, fees, and records.
• Prepare emissions inventories, throughput calculations, certifications, and reports.
• Compile environmental reports (Tier II, air compliance, waste, wastewater).
• Review/update SPCC, SWPPP, and waste contingency plans.
• Evaluate VOC limits and product compliance questions.
• Prepare facilities for inspections and agency follow-up.
• Support permitting for new facilities, expansions, and equipment changes.
• Monitor environmental data (air, wastewater, chemical usage, waste).
• Provide environmental trainings and site support as needed.
