Bunnell-Lammons Engineering (BLE) is seeking a Department Manager for Environmental Due Diligence and Compliance in Tampa, FL. This senior role leads the department, drives project delivery, and ensures regulatory adherence across commercial, industrial, and public sectors.

The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of federal/state environmental regulations, ESAs, and environmental compliance auditing, with a track record in leadership and client-focused services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 10+ years in geotechnical/environmental consulting with leadership experience.
• 3+ years of team leadership or management experience.
• Professional registration (PE, PG, CHMM, or similar) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (CERCLA, RCRA, CWA, CAA, EPCRA).
• Excellent project management and organizational skills with multiple deadlines.
• Experience with large portfolio due diligence for real estate, investment, or corporate clients.
• Familiarity with ASTM and AAI standards, vapor encroachment screening, PFAS regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Environmental Services Department focusing on due diligence and compliance.
• Supervise and mentor environmental professionals across multiple projects and experience levels.
• Oversee workload allocation, training, performance reviews, and hiring.
• Promote technical excellence, collaboration, and professional development.
• Oversee Phase I ESAs (ASTM E1527-21) and Phase II investigations as needed.
• Manage transactional due diligence for real estate, M&A, and refinancing.
• Ensure timely delivery of accurate, defensible reports to clients and lenders.
• Provide expert reviews and client-facing interpretations of findings and recommendations.
• Lead environmental compliance audits across facilities in multiple sectors.
• Oversee permits, plans, and reports (SPCC, air/water/waste, Tier II/TRI).
• Stay current on evolving regulatory requirements and advise clients accordingly.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships to expand repeat business.
• Plan and implement staffing, budgets, and KPI-driven performance.
